Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Swipeloot is developed by Jolly Good Apps. This policy explains what information we collect when you play Swipeloot, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
The short version: we collect only what's needed to run the game, plus anonymous analytics and advertising data handled by Google. We never sell your data.
1. What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary for the game to function:
- Device identifier — a randomly generated ID created on your device the first time you play. This is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information. It is used to associate your scores and game progress with your device.
- Player name — a randomly generated nickname assigned when you first play. You can accept it or request a new one, but you cannot type your own. This is not your real name and cannot be used to identify you. It is displayed on leaderboards and visible to other players in the same game.
- Country — your approximate country, determined from your device's IP address. It is shown on leaderboards and next to your name during games. We work out only the country — never your precise location — and we do not retain your IP address; only the resulting two-letter country code is stored.
- Game scores — your scores are stored on our server to power the leaderboard.
- In-app purchase receipts — if you purchase energy orb packs, we receive a purchase token from Apple or Google to verify the transaction. We do not receive your payment card details.
- Advertising identifier — your device's advertising ID (Google Advertising ID on Android, Identifier for Advertisers on iOS). This is a resettable identifier provided by your device and used by the analytics and advertising services listed in section 3. You can reset it, or opt out of personalised ads, at any time in your device settings.
- Usage, device and diagnostic data — anonymous information about how the game is used and how it performs, such as game sessions, features used, app version, device model, and crash/performance data. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, precise location (such as GPS), contacts, camera access, or any other personal information.
2. How We Use It
- To display your player name and score on the leaderboard
- To verify in-app purchases and credit your account with energy orbs
- To run multiplayer game sessions and match you with other players
- To measure how the game is used and to improve it, using anonymous analytics
- To show ads, where enabled, which help support the free version of the game
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles that personally identify you.
3. Third Parties
We use the following third-party services, which operate under their own privacy policies and may collect data — including your advertising identifier — to provide their service:
- Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymous usage, performance and crash analytics that help us understand how the game is played and fix problems. See the Firebase privacy information and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob — used to display ads within the game where enabled, and to mediate other ad networks (listed below) in a single real-time auction. AdMob may use your advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. See how Google uses data from our app. You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings.
- Unity Ads (Unity Technologies) — an advertising network mediated through Google AdMob to help fill ad space within the game where enabled. Unity may use your advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. See the Unity privacy policy. You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Their privacy policies apply to the payment process. We receive only a purchase token to confirm the transaction.
Our game server is hosted on Hetzner, a European cloud provider. Data is stored in the EU.
To show the correct country flag, we look up the approximate country for your IP address using a local copy of the DB-IP IP-to-Country Lite database. This lookup runs entirely on our own server — your IP address is never sent to any third-party location service.
4. Children
Swipeloot requires no account registration and does not collect names, email addresses, or contact information. The game does use the analytics and advertising services described in section 3, which may collect a resettable device advertising identifier. Swipeloot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information that identifies a child. If you believe a child has provided us with such information, please contact us and we will delete it.
5. Deleting Your Data
You can delete all your game data at any time directly from within the app:
- Open Swipeloot and tap the ⚙ settings icon on the main menu.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Options panel.
- Tap Reset Game Data and confirm.
This removes your player name, country, scores, and energy orbs from our server. In-app purchase tokens are retained to prevent fraudulent transaction replays; they contain no personal information.
For full details, see our Delete Account page.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Swipeloot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
